美国一位资深共和党议员呼吁调查渣打是否协助“向已知恐怖分子提供非法支付”，并批评纽约州总检察长Letitia James未能采取行动，渣打股价应声下挫。

　　联邦众议员Elise Stefanik呼吁总检察长帕姆·邦迪阻止针对渣打的制裁规避案在8月19日到期。这位共和党人表示，James在听取有关支付的汇报后未能采取行动。

　　“如果不对此案采取进一步行动，将存在有更多资金流向恐怖组织的严重风险，”Stefanik在致邦迪的信中写道。

　　渣打股价在伦敦一度下跌7.8%。James办公室的发言人未立即回复置评请求。

　　渣打及其多家同行已经面临由美国军人及其家属提起的恐怖主义融资诉讼。

　　Stefanik指称，渣打向已知恐怖分子非法支付了至少96亿美元。

　　渣打回应称，有关其协助完成96亿美元非法交易的指控“完全错误，且已多次被美国法院驳回”。

　　“我们当然将与任何相关监管机构全面配合，以向他们确认这些指控毫无根据，”渣打在声明中表示。“事实从未改变。”
