位于美国加州硅谷帕洛阿尔托的高端住宅区Crescent Park，曾以宁静宜人的生活环境著称，如今却因世界顶级富豪扎克伯格的大规模扩建计划引发强烈不满。有居民愤怒地表示，原本的邻里氛围正在被破坏，“整个社区仿佛被他们占领了。”

这已经不是扎克伯格第一次展现出神神秘秘的作风了，他的房产遍布美国硅谷、夏威夷、旧金山、华盛顿特区、太浩湖区等地，此前他在夏威夷库劳农场大兴土木打造了一处464平方米的“末日堡垒”，让周围民众感到费解和恐慌。

这次，扎克伯格在Crescent Park接连买下11栋房子，并尝试以各种方式将它们连成一片，有14名学龄儿童有规律地上学放学，形成一所隐秘的私人学校。

由于这已违反了私人住宅的相关管理规定，帕洛阿尔托市政府对扎克伯格夫妇发起了调查。

自2011年起，扎克伯格与妻子普莉希拉在Crescent Park不断购入房产，目前已持有至少11栋房屋，总价值超过1.1亿美元。其中5栋房子已经被整合为私人庄园，配有匹克球场、泳池、客房、大型地下空间，甚至还竖立了一尊普莉希拉的雕像。
