Market Chatter: Microsoft Seeking to Poach AI Talent From Meta Platforms

Microsoft (MSFT) has compiled a list of Meta Platform's (META) engineers and researchers and is making multimillion-dollar offers to the employees, Business Insider said Tuesday, citing internal documents.

The tech company has created a spreadsheet of most-wanted Meta employees, which lists workers by their name and position, and has started sharing it with managers in some AI teams, the report said, citing a source close to the matter.

Microsoft is implementing a new process designed to make offers more competitive and has asked recruiters to mark certain candidates as "critical AI talent," so that upper level management can respond with a top offer within a day, the report said.

As part of the new process, Microsoft provides an "offer rationale" about the candidate's AI skills and experience and also uses a "compensation modeler" to come up with a range for the candidate, according to the report.

Microsoft did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares were up 1.4% in recent afternoon trading.
