POSCO Holdings Inc. has successfully made its initial shipment of cathode materials produced using self-sufficient precursors through its subsidiary POSCO Future M. These high-nickel NCMA cathode materials, known for their high energy density and output, are being supplied to Ultium Cells, a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and General Motors in the United States. The shipment marks a significant achievement for POSCO Future M, which has established a self-sufficient system spanning raw materials, intermediates, and cathode materials through collaboration with other group companies including POSCO HY Clean Metal, POSCO Pilbara Lithium Solution, and POSCO Lithium Solution. This strategic move aims to enhance supply chain competitiveness amid evolving global market dynamics.
