White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN) said it confirmed sediment-hosted copper, accompanied by semi-massive sulfide veining directly beneath the copper-bearing sediments, during the maiden drilling program at the Rae copper project in Canada, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

A discovery diamond drillhole intercepted a broad zone of sulfide mineralization within the lower sediments, including 16 meters of chalcopyrite-bornite-bearing sediments from 175 meters and further semi-massive chalcopyrite-bornite from 290 meters to 295 meters downhole.

The firm is conducting follow-up drilling at the Stark target area, a large geophysical conductor that is yet to be tested by drilling, stepping out from the discovery drillhole.

The firm's shares jumped 12% in recent trading on Thursday.
