Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Track Lower in Thursday Trading

Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were trending lower Thursday morning, falling 0.80% to 2,464.06 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by tech company Xunlei (XNET) and financial services company Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), which advanced roughly 18% and 3%, respectively. They were followed by financial services company Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) and fintech firm Pintec Technology (PT), which were up 2.2% and 1.8%, respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by thin-film liquid display maker LG Display (LPL) and computer hardware maker Canaan (CAN), which shed 10% and 5.1%, respectively. They were followed by electric vehicle maker NIO (NIO) and consumer lending firm Eason Technology (DXF), which fell 4.7% and 4.6%, respectively.

From South Asia, the lone gainer was telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), which rose 1.4%.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which dropped 2.1% and 0.7%, respectively. They were followed by IT firm Infosys (INFY) and telecommunications operator PLDT (PHI), which were down 0.6% and 0.4% respectively.
