Texas AG, Kellogg Strike Legal Agreement on Artificial Dyes -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Aug 14

1323 ET - Cereal maker WK Kellogg Co. signed a legal agreement with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton committing to remove artificial dyes from its cereals, according to Paxton. He says the "assurance of voluntary compliance" is a first, though a slew of food companies including WK Kellogg have recently vowed to voluntarily strip the dyes from their products. The agreement, which Paxton says ensures WK Kellogg's move is permanent, comes four months after he announced an investigation into the cereal maker tied to its use of the dyes. WK Kellogg says it appreciated the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Texas AG's office and that it shares the focus on health and wellness. (jesse.newman@wsj.com)
