中国中铁是集基建建设、勘察设计与咨询服务、工程设备和零部件制造、房地产开发、矿产资源开发、物资贸易等业务于一体的多功能特大型企业集团。公司业务范围涵盖铁路、公路、市政、房建、城市轨道交通、水利水电、港口航道、机场码头等多个领域。
公司参与的坦桑尼亚-布隆迪跨国标轨铁路项目近日举行奠基仪式。该项目全长约240公里，计划于2030年左右建成通车，建成后将显著降低区域运输成本，促进当地经济发展。布隆迪总统恩达伊施米耶和坦桑尼亚总理马贾利瓦共同出席仪式并为项目揭牌。
