H World Group shares were 5% higher, at $34.90, after the company reported second-quarter earnings and revenue higher than analysts' expectations.
The hotel company said it had quarterly net income of $215 million, or 68 cents per ADS, compared with $147 million, or 46 cents per ADS, in the same quarter last year. Analysts polled by FactSet were looking for a profit of $162.3 million, or 50 cents per ADS.
Revenue for the quarter was $897 million, compared with the $877.2 million analysts were expecting
The company said hotel turnover for the quarter was 15% higher year over year. The occupancy rate for all of its Legacy-Huazhu hotels in operation was 81% in the second quarter, compared with 82.6% in the second quarter of 2024 and 76.2% in the previous quarter.
For the third quarter, H World expects revenue growth to be 2% to 6%, compared with the third quarter of 2024
