China's vice commerce minister meets with foreign businesses

BEIJING, Aug 20 (Reuters) - China's vice commerce minister Ling Ji met with representatives from over 30 foreign firms including ExxonMobil XOM.N, BASF BASFn.DE, IBM IBM.N, Siemens SIEGn.DE and Walmart WMT.N in the city of Guangzhou.

China "hopes that foreign enterprises will continue to deepen their roots in China, and increase their R&D efforts in China," Ling said, according to a statement released by his ministry on Wednesday.
