Valero Energy has reported a process upset involving a hydrocracker at its 435,000 b/d refinery in Port Arthur, Texas.
The upset in Hydrocracking Unit 943 began at 8 p.m. CT Sunday and continued into Monday morning, the company said in a Monday filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
Valero said the incident led to a leaking valve bonnet in the unit and emissions.
