Stavely Minerals (ASX:SVY) said reverse circulation (RC) drilling is underway to confirm high-grade gold orientations and extend known mineralization along strike to the north and south at its Stavely Copper-Gold Project's Fairview North Gold Prospect in Western Victoria, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The company said a soil auger program to the south of one of the drill holes is about 75% complete, with samples dispatched to the laboratory.

The remainder of the soil auger program will be completed once this phase of reverse circulation drilling at Fairview North is complete, which will inform follow-up RC drill planning at the Fairview South gold prospect.

The company's shares rose nearly 8% in recent Wednesday trade.
