1240 GMT - WPP will need to improve its performance in pitches to clients to convince the market that it has an edge over competitors in data, UBS analysts say in a research note. The U.K. advertising group was optimistic during a recent earnings call that it would have a competitive advantage in future pitches thanks to its recent acquisition of InfoSum, which gives it the ability to integrate third-party data in a way that protects privacy, UBS says. "However, we are unsure if these really give a competitive advantage," the analysts say. "We would need to see WPP performance in media pitches improve, before being convinced that any competitive advantage exists." Shares are down 0.9% at 372.70 pence.(adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
