Data I/O said a ransomware incident on Aug. 16 has temporarily impacted its operations.
In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said once it discovered the incident, it activated response protocols, took steps to secure its global IT systems, and performed other containment measures. In addition, Data I/O said, it engaged cybersecurity experts to support the IT system recovery and conduct an investigation.
Data I/O also said it has implemented measures to restore some operational functions, although the timeline for full restoration is not yet known.
While the incident doesn't appear to have had a material impact on business operations, the full scope and impact is not yet known, according to the company. Expected related costs are reasonably likely to have material impact on results of operations and financial condition, Data I/O said.
Data I/O provides programming and security deployment systems and services for electronic device manufacturers.
