Cenovus Would Have Access to Remote Resources With MEG Infrastructure -- Market Talk

1027 ET - Cenovus CEO Jon McKenzie says that MEG Energy's infrastructure would allows for it to develop resources it was decades away from consideration. Part of the merger appeal, McKenzie says in a call to investors, is that it connects the two companies' operations around Christina Lake in Alberta. CEO Jon McKenzie says that thanks to MEG's infrastructure and pipeline in the area, merging the two companies would open up untapped resources in Cenovus' portfolio that it didn't have the means to reach. "We're building a contiguous portfolio of assets that will produce for decades to come," the executive says. (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
