Sayona Mining (ASX:SYA) said that updated mineral resource and ore reserve estimates at the Moblan lithium project in Canada came in at a measured, indicated, and inferred mineral resource of 121 million tonnes at 1.19% grade of lithium oxide at a cut-off grade of 0.55%, an increase of 30% over the previous estimate of 93.1 million tonnes at a grade of 1.21%, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
Around 89% of the total tonnage is in the measured and indicated categories. The result could underpin higher production and/or longer mine life, per the filing.
The total ore reserves were increased to 48.08 million tonnes at a 1.31% grade of lithium oxide, rising 39% from the previous estimate.
The firm's shares rose almost 4% in recent trading on Monday.
