第一资本金融公司（Capital One）与发现金融公司（Discover Financial）的合并交易已完成，该交易对美国银行业第二季度利润造成拖累。数据显示，美国银行业二季度利润为 699 亿美元，较上一季度下降 1%。

　　美国联邦存款保险公司（FDIC）表示，会计准则要求这两家机构合并后需计提一笔规模相对较大的拨备费用（注：“拨备费用” 指银行为应对潜在坏账风险而计提的准备金，会直接影响当期利润）。该监管机构指出，若剔除这笔一次性成本，得益于净利息收入和非利息收入的增长，本季度银行业利润本应实现同比上升。

　　今年 5 月完成合并的这家新银行，是本季度拨备费用增长 33.7%（增加 76 亿美元）的主要原因；受此影响，本季度银行业利润减少了 6.773 亿美元。

　　美国联邦存款保险公司代理主席特拉维斯・希尔在一份事先准备好的声明中指出，美国国内存款已连续第四个季度增长，贷款增速也有所加快。联邦存款保险公司表示，银行业资产质量指标总体保持良好，但同时提到部分资产组合仍显疲软 —— 其中商业地产和信用卡领域尤为突出，这两类资产的逾期率已高于疫情前平均水平。
