ChainCatcher 消息，美国财政部长贝森特周三通过福克斯商业频道再度要求美联储主席鲍威尔开展内部审查，重点调查美联储理事库克涉嫌抵押贷款欺诈的指控。
贝森特表示："我建议鲍威尔主席在考虑外部审查前，先完成内部调查。"他直言库克事件亟待解决，并指出："她从未否认指控，只是反复强调总统无权解除其职务。"
贝森特强调，若美联储官员涉及抵押贷款欺诈，不应继续在美国核心金融监管机构任职。他批评称："美联储作为独立机构，与公众的关系建立在高度信任基础上，此类事件严重损害了这种信任关系。"
