智通财经APP获悉，根据媒体看到的一份备忘录，美国零售商克罗格(KR.US)将裁员1000人，以削减成本并简化业务。该公司临时首席执行官Ron Sargent表示：“这些决定从来都不容易，但深思熟虑的选择对于让我们的组织继续取得成功是必要的。”
据悉，克罗格将把节省下来的资金将用于开设新门店、创造更多门店层面的就业岗位，以及降低食品杂货价格。除了裁员，该公司还在叫停那些“无助于其核心业务”的项目。
此次裁员发生在克罗格寻求新的增长途径之际。此前，克罗格与艾伯森(ACI.US)的合并计划被美国联邦贸易委员会(FTC) 阻止。克罗格仍在特拉华衡平法院对艾伯森继续寻求的6亿美元合并终止费的有效性提出质疑。克罗格声称，该交易是被艾伯森和C&S批发杂货公司破坏的。克罗格最近与C&S批发杂货公司达成了一项和解协议，金额未披露。
