BUZZ-Energy companies gain as US crude stocks drop

** S&P 500 Energy index .SPNY up 0.6%, tracking crude prices O/R

** Brent crude futures LCOc1 were up 0.5% at $67.54/bbl, while West Texas Intermediate $(WTI)$ crude futures CLc1 climbed 0.5% to $63.58/bbl

** Crude prices edged higher on a larger-than-expected drop in U.S. crude inventories and the potential impact of new U.S. tariffs on India

** Oil majors Chevron CVX.N and Exxon Mobil XOM.N up 0.4% and 0.3% respectively

** Valero Energy VLO.N, APA Corp APA.O, Marathon Petroleum MPC.N and Occidental Petroleum OXY.N rise between 1% and 1.8%; among the top percentage movers on the energy index

** Oilfield services company Halliburton HAL.N and SLB SLB.N rise each about 1.1%

** Refiners Phillips 66 PSX.N up 1.6% and HF Sinclair DINO.N gain 1.4%
