路透社周二获取的一份公司内部备忘录显示，印度信息技术企业塔塔咨询服务公司（Tata Consultancy Services，简称 TCS）已任命阿米特・卡普尔（Amit Kapur）为新成立的 “人工智能与服务转型部门” 负责人。

　　卡普尔的任命将于 9 月生效，此时正值印度各信息技术公司竞相采用人工智能技术、为客户提供更多人工智能产品之际 —— 目的是吸引科技领域支出，而该领域支出已连续多个季度处于低迷状态。

　　备忘录中提到：“过去几年，塔塔咨询服务公司通过提升自身技术能力、对员工进行技能再培训以及深化合作关系，在人工智能领域取得了重大进展。”

　　在塔塔咨询服务公司成立这一新部门的数周前，这家印度信息技术巨头刚宣布计划裁员 1.2 万人。这一举措加剧了外界的担忧信号：随着人工智能应用的不断深化，印度规模达 2830 亿美元的外包行业可能会出现更多裁员情况。

　　目前，塔塔咨询服务公司尚未就路透社提出的、请求确认卡普尔任命事宜的置评请求作出即时回应。
