Tesla (TSLA) Chief Executive Elon Musk's lawyers have petitioned a US judge to block Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI's effort to obtain documents and communications from Meta Platforms (META) pertaining to the social media company's $97.4 billion bid for OpenAI assets, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a court filing.
OpenAI has asked a judge to order Meta to come up with any communications that could show Musk sought to enlist Meta in an effort to buy OpenAI, the report said.
Musk's lawyers argue the documents are irrelevant, while Meta has also asked the judge to deny the request, the report said.
OpenAI, Musk's lawyers, and Meta did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
