智通财经APP获悉，力拓集团(RIO.US)新任首席执行官西蒙·特罗特(Simon Trott)正着手对这家全球第二大矿业公司展开业务整合，旨在简化运营架构并聚焦核心资产。曾主导铁矿石业务的特罗特于今年早些时候获任CEO，并于本月正式履新，其核心任务包括精简业务、控制成本，并在公司多个重大增长项目逐步投产的背景下，集中资源发展最优质的资产。
力拓周三宣布将重组为三大业务部门：铁矿石、铝与锂、铜。此次调整将把位于几内亚的新西芒杜铁矿与澳大利亚现有铁矿石业务合并，同时整合铝和锂业务板块。
接替特罗特负责铁矿石部门的是马修·霍尔茨(Matthew Holcz)，而原矿产业务负责人辛西娅·考夫曼(Sinead Kaufman)将于年内离职。公司还表示将对矿产部门旗下的硼酸盐和钛业务进行审查。
特罗特的任命标志着力拓管理层的重大调整。他接替了今年早些时候被董事会罢免的雅各布·施陶霍尔姆(Jacob Stausholm)。
据知情人士透露，尽管这位丹麦籍前CEO在上任初期曾帮助公司扭转部分困境，但董事会认为当前需要更具创新性的战略思路。此次业务重组被视为新任管理层推动公司转型的关键一步。
