Zhihu (HKG:2390) recorded an attributable net income of 72.5 million yuan in the second quarter, compared with an attributable loss of 82.7 million yuan a year prior, a late Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.
Shares of the online question-and-answer platform were up over 5% in Thursday afternoon trading.
Earnings per share stood at 0.29 yuan in the three months, while the firm had incurred a loss per share of 0.30 yuan in the corresponding period of the last year.
Revenue fell to 716.9 million yuan in the period from 933.8 million yuan in the year-ago period.
For the first half, the firm turned to an attributable net income of 62.4 million, or 0.25 yuan per share, from an attributable loss of 247.6 million yuan, or 0.88 yuan per share.
Revenue for the half year slid to 1.45 billion yuan from 1.89 billion yuan in the prior-year period.
