Latitude Group Holdings (ASX:LFS) said the Federal Court of Australia on Thursday dismissed the company's appeal against the decision made in a November 2024 ruling, while granting leave for the case to be heard, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
Last November, the Court found that the company, along with Harvey Norman Holdings (ASX:HVN), engaged in conduct that was misleading or deceptive and was liable to mislead the public.
The Court declared that from January 2020 to Aug. 11, 2021, the parties advertised that customers could buy goods from Harvey Norman stores with no deposit and no interest.
However, customers were signing up for a continuing credit contract connected to a credit card.
The company said a hearing to determine any penalties will be scheduled at a later date.
