据9月3日声明日本制铁及其全资子公司日铁北美公司、美国钢铁公司和美国钢铁工人联合会（USW）已终止与日铁和美钢合作关系相关的所有诉讼及其他纠纷。具体而言日铁、日铁北美公司和美钢撤销在美国宾夕法尼亚州西区联邦地区法院对USW主席戴维·麦考尔（David McCall）提起的诉讼以及USW撤回对美钢提起的不公平劳工行为指控。各方在诉讼终止后未交换任何财务对价将继续专注于钢铁生产和集体谈判。
