0623 GMT - The reduction of Aegon's stake in ASR Nederland is likely to prompt a positive reaction since it increases expectations on capital distribution, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods say in a research note. The Dutch insurer trimmed its stake in its peer by 6% to 24% in a deal that will bring its cash to 2.7 billion euros, with management aiming to reduce it to 1.0 billion euros. "This move looks in line with our expectations that Aegon's recent evaluation to re-domicile and list in the U.S. could trigger some actions in the non-US assets," analyst Michele Ballatore writes. This will likely push buyback expectations higher, he adds. Aegon's smaller participation in ASR reduces overhang and is positive on balance, he says. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
