Adidas Looks Set to Benefit From a Diversified Growth Strategy -- Market Talk

0801 GMT - Adidas seems to have an increasing diversity of growth drivers despite a tough backdrop marked by U.S. tariffs, Jefferies analysts write in a research note. The German sporting-goods company is successfully expanding the brand momentum initially created by its Terrace shoes into the broader offering, they say. Its marketing push in soccer, running and training is paying off and boosting consumer engagement, Jefferies says. "Ongoing market share gains appear well anchored for the quarters ahead," the analysts say. The environment in the U.S. remains uncertain due to the tariffs, but Adidas looks like a winner in the current landscape, they add. The analysts believe that a guidance upgrade in October is likely. Jefferies upgrades its stock recommendation to buy from a hold rating. Shares climb 3%. (andrea.figueras@wsj.com)
