　　贝利周三表示，在特朗普试图解雇美联储理事丽莎·库克后，他“非常担忧”，此举引发的法律斗争可能决定美国央行的未来。近月来特朗普持续向美联储施压，在利率制定者权衡美国关税引发的通胀威胁之际，他屡次要求进一步降息。

　　贝利在下议院财政委员会向议员表示，“美联储在独立性及决策方面建立了极强的声誉，因此此事令人深感忧虑。我认为这是条极其危险的道路。”

　　作为对特朗普政府向来谨言慎行的英国央行行长，贝利此次的言论堪称迄今最强烈的批评。上月，他曾称美联储主席杰罗姆·鲍威尔为朋友和“极具诚信之人”，但补充称不会对美国国内事务置评。
