Shares of Newmont (ASX:NEM) jumped almost 3%, reaching their highest point ever in recent trading on Monday, while those of Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) and Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) both rose over 5%.
This came as gold prices neared their record high of $3,500 per ounce after US President Donald Trump said in a social media post that prices are "WAY DOWN" in the US, with "virtually no inflation."
