Genuine Parts Names 2 Members to Board in Deal With Elliott Investment Management

Genuine Parts (GPC) said it is appointing two new members to its board of directors as part of a deal with activist investor Elliott Investment Management.
The company said it has appointed Courtney Carruthers, former president and chief executive of TricorBraun, and Matt Carey, a former Home Depot (HD) as independent directors to the board, from Sept. 4, the company said.
Robert Charles Loudermilk and John R. Holder will retire from the board, the company said.
