Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) experienced another sharp drop in monthly deliveries as several major peers like Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) reported record-high figures.
The company delivered 28,529 vehicles in August, down 40.72 percent year-on-year, marking its third consecutive month of sharp declines and a 7.17 percent decrease from June, according to data released today.
From January to August, Li Auto delivered 263,198 vehicles, representing an 8.64 percent year-on-year decrease.
Cumulative deliveries since the company's founding totaled 1,397,070 units by the end of August.
Amid the delivery decline, Li Auto is pinning hopes on its upcoming Li i6 electric SUV, set for official launch next month.
Li Auto will roll out the Li i6 in September with a price range of about RMB 250,000 ($35,040) to RMB 300,000, the company announced today.
It launched the six-seat Li i8, its first pure-electric SUV, on July 29. On August 5, Li Auto relaunched the Li i8, reducing available variants from three to one and lowering prices following disappointing initial reception.
On August 13, Li Auto said its goal to deliver 8,000 to 10,000 Li i8 units by the end of September. Deliveries of the Li i8 commenced on August 20.
Li Auto aims for stable monthly deliveries of 6,000 Li i8 units and 9,000 to 10,000 Li i6 units by year-end, Li Xiang, the company's founder, chairman, and CEO, said earlier today on Weibo.
Including the Li Mega, Li Auto's overall battery electric vehicle (BEV) models will stabilize at 18,000-20,000 units monthly, Li stated.
Earlier today, Li Auto announced monthly deliveries of the Li Mega surpassed 3,000 units without specifying the exact figure.
As of August 31, 2025, Li Auto operates 543 retail stores across 156 cities, along with 536 service centers and authorized body and paint shops in 222 cities.
The company has 3,190 supercharging stations in China, equipped with 17,597 charging points.
