Supreme PLC said it acquired 1001 carpet care brand for up to 3 million pounds ($4.1 million) from the U.S.-based WD-40 Company.
The London-listed consumer-goods distributor said Monday that the transaction includes a fixed consideration of 1.65 million pounds, adding that the value could increase to up to 3 million pounds through the purchase of inventory at book value.
It expects the integration of the business to proceed without disruption at customer-service level, Supreme said.
The transaction is fully aligned with the distributor's strategy, which targets expansion of the portfolio, enhance earnings immediately and accessing new retail customers, it said.
"We see substantial potential to expand the 1001 range, invest in its growth, and build another successful vertical alongside our existing portfolio," Chief Executive Sandy Chadha said.
