DoorDash and Amazon Can Co-Exist in Grocery Delivery Market -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Sep 04
1227 ET - Amazon's expansion into the grocery delivery market could be a negative for DoorDash, but won't prove to be a meaningful threat to DoorDash's own grocery expansion, say Truist analysts. Grocery delivery is growing rapidly and should offer space for both companies. Additionally, Amazon's expansion into grocery delivery will lead grocers to invest in improving their own delivery services and may partner with DoorDash to do so, as six of the top 10 U.S. grocers already have. Groceries also currently compose just a small part of DoorDash's total business, meaning Amazon's grocery expansion represents little risk. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
