0507 GMT - K-pop's share of the global concert market is set to more than double to 5.4% by 2027 from 2.5% in 2024, says HSBC analyst Junhyun Kim in a note. Tours by top-tier artists, including BTS, with an anticipated three million attendees, and TWICE, with about one million in North America and Europe during 2026-2027, will likely be the key drivers, he says. Kim forecasts three major K-pop companies--Hybe, SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment, to post 2024-2027 concert sales CAGR of 40%. HSBC has a positive view on the K-pop sector and prefers Hybe on the resumption of the activities of BTS, including its upcoming world tour. (monica.gupta@wsj.com)
