据腾讯新闻《一线》，8月27日，中国银联官网发布公告称：中国银联股份有限公司已终止花旗银行（中国）有限公司的成员资格。究其原因，从接近银联的相关人士处获悉，这其实是花旗中国主动向银联申请终止的成员资格的。据悉，资格终止后，花旗中国将不再通过银联网络开展支付业务。据悉，此项变化不仅会使得花旗银行的中国银联成员资格终止，其银联国际会员资格也会自动终止。因此，若用户持有花旗中国的银行卡，在境外想通过银联国际渠道消费或支付，也将会受到极大的影响。
