AB Foods Would Benefit From Steadier Weather Patterns -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Sep 10
0950 GMT - A more normalized weather pattern would pave way for some improvement in AB Foods' agriculture and sugar divisions, which suffered from a hot, dry summer this year, Shore Capital analysts Clive Black and Darren Shirley write. The company incurred one-off costs from the U.K. weather in its joint venture with crop production business Frontier Agriculture. Also, weather disruptions in Africa hit AB Foods' sugar division, which is expected to face a trading loss of 40 million pounds for the year, the analysts write. Shares are down 10% at 20.05 pounds.
