Nebius's Microsoft Contract Seen as Proof of Leadership in Neocloud -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Sep 09
1853 ET - Nebius's $17.4 billion contract with Microsoft is further evidence that the company is the leading neocloud player, D.A. Davidson analyst Alex Platt says in a note. Nebius is beating out leading hyperscalers for its sovereign contracts, and this contract well eclipses CoreWeave's current agreement with Microsoft, Platt says. The contract should set the stage for Nebius to ink deals with more high-profile customers including other hyperscalers and frontier artificial-intelligence labs as it continues to build out its data-center capacity, Platt says. Shares rise 39%, to $88.91, in after-hours trading. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
