AB Foods' Primark On Par With Chinese Competitors, But Muted Growth Expected -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Sep 10
0755 GMT - AB Foods' biggest business Primark is on par with Chinese fast-fashion majors like Shein and Temu, despite facing tough consumer sentiment and unfavorable market conditions, analysts at Interactive Investor write. The retail business's rollout of stores globally will bolster sales growth, especially in the U.S., the analysts say. Although it is still in its beginning stages in the U.S., it has clear potential for growth, they say. But overall, sales growth for Primark is expected to be quite muted, at around 1% for the year, the analysts write. Shares are down 9.5% at 20.27 pounds. (aimee.look@wsj.com)
