LG化学发布新闻稿宣布日本丰田通商已收购其龟尾正极材料工厂（LG-HY BCM）25%的股份成为其第二大股东。丰田通商是丰田集团的综合商社是担负丰田汽车原材料采购重任的核心公司。随着丰田通商的加入LG化学龟尾正极材料工厂的持股结构变为：LG化学51%、丰田通商25%、丰田钴业由49%变为24%。这使得丰田通商能够满足新制定的PFE标准从而符合IRA法规。因此丰田通商计划向北美电池客户供应其龟尾正极材料工厂生产的正极材料。
