Stock futures were rising Wednesday, as investors awaited the first of two key inflation reports that could help determine how many times the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in 2025.

These stocks were poised to make moves:

Oracle shares surged 29% ahead of the opening bell. The software company missed Wall Street's targets for quarterly earnings and revenue, but revealed a significant increase in its backlog of contracted work, indicating intense demand for renting artificial-intelligence servers in the cloud.

GameStop stock jumped 7.8%. The videogame retailer reported earnings of 25 cents a share on revenue of $972.2 million after Tuesday's close, topping analysts' expectations.

Synopsys plummeted 20% after the chip design software company reported weaker-than-expected earnings and revenue for its fiscal third quarter, and issued mixed guidance for the current quarter.

Shares in Wearable Devices which makes AI-powered touchless wristbands, jumped 65% after the company said that its loss per share had narrowed to $2.30 from $16.52 in the first half of the year.

AeroVironment stock jumped 4.9% in premarket trading. The defense contractor raised its profit outlook for the year, after revenue more than doubled in its fiscal first quarter.

Online pet-products retailer Chewy is scheduled to post fiscal second-quarter earnings ahead of the opening bell. The stock was up 4% in premarket trading. Coming into the report, shares have risen 26% this year.

Earnings reports are also expected Wednesday from Daktronics and Oxford Industries.
