BlockBeats 消息，9 月 12 日，有“美联储传声筒”之称的《华尔街日报》记者 Nick Timiraos 在社交媒体上发文表示，由于在 PCE 中权重高于 CPI 的若干商品类别 8 月价格出现显著下跌，上月核心 PCE 与核心 CPI 之间形成更大缺口或“楔形差”。
通过 CPI 和 PPI 数据推演 PCE 的分析师预计，美联储青睐的核心通胀指标上月环比涨幅约为 0.20%（对比 CPI 的 0.35%），这将使 12 个月年率维持在 2.9%。
尤其值得注意的是，预计 8 月 PCE 中的核心商品价格出现下降——而这部分在 CPI 中实则上涨。
整体价格预计环比上升 0.24%，推动 12 个月年率升至 2.7%。
