韩国第二大移动运营商韩国电信公司（KT）周四表示，5500多名用户的个人数据可能在最近的一次移动支付数据泄露事件中遭到泄露，该公司为此公开道歉。
韩国电信在一份声明中表示：“我们确认，国际移动用户身份（IMSI）数据可能泄露，影响了5561名用户。我们今天下午向个人信息保护委员会（PIPC）报告了这起案件，并通过短信通知了受影响的客户有关救济措施。”
KT首席执行官韩国电信Kim Young-shub也在记者招待会上表示道歉，并承诺全额赔偿。
他说：“我们真诚地向所有受到未经授权的移动支付影响的客户道歉。我们将尽最大努力防止进一步的损害，并向受害者提供全额赔偿。”
自8月27日以来，一些主要在首尔西南部的韩国电信用户报告了未经授权的移动交易。
韩国政府已经成立了一个联合特别小组来调查这起事件。
今年4月，SK电信披露了服务器上的通用用户身份模块（USIM）数据严重泄露的事件，影响到2300多万名用户。韩国个人信息保护委员会（PIPC）上月对SK电信处以创纪录的1348亿韩元（约合9690万美元）罚款，是自2020年该机构成立以来开出的最高罚单。
