Fox Backs Plan to Buy 19% Stake in FanDuel -- Market Talk
Dow Jones

1448 ET - Fox Corp. intends to exercise its option to purchase 18.6% of FanDuel before 2030, Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch says at a Goldman Sachs conference. Fox is in the early stages of engaging with 26 states to get sports betting licensing so it can exercise its option, Murdoch says. Flutter bought out Boyd Gaming's 5% stake in FanDuel earlier this year, giving Flutter 100% ownership of the sports betting platform. Fox already owns a 2.5% stake in Flutter. That stake, combined with valuations of a 18.6% stake in Flutter, would be worth about $4.2 billion total, Murdoch says. Fox Corp. and Dow Jones's parent, News Corp., share common ownership.
