Carlyle, Nomura to Sell Stakes in Orion Breweries

Carlyle Group (CG) and Nomura (NMR) are selling a part of their holdings in Japanese brewer Orion Breweries' upcoming initial public offering, a regulatory filing by Orion Breweries showed Tuesday.

Carlyle Group will sell about 13.5 million shares, while Nomura is looking to offload approximately 14 million shares, according to the filing.

Their partial exit from Orion comes about six years after they acquired the company, Bloomberg reported.

Orion priced its IPO at 850 Japanese yen ($5.78) per share, with expected gross proceeds of 26.942 billion yen.

The offer period will begin Wednesday and close on Sept. 22, according to the filing.
