Energy stocks were edging higher pre-bell Monday, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) up 0.4%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 0.9% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was down 0.2%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.5% higher at $62.99 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.3% to $67.19 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down marginally at $2.94 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Permian Resources (PR) shares were down more than 1% after the company said affiliates of Pearl Energy Investments and Riverstone Investment Group plan to sell 46.1 million shares of its class A common stock in an underwritten public offering.
