Iridium Communications to Provide Deutsche Telekom With Satellite Connnectivity

Iridium Communications (IRDM) said Tuesday that it agreed to provide satellite-based connectivity services to Germany's Deutsche Telekom.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Iridium said Deutsche Telekom will gain roaming access to its forthcoming 3GPP standards-based 5G service. The two companies will collaborate to integrate Iridium's NTN Direct service with Deutsche Telekom's terrestrial global Internet of Things network, Iridium said.
Commercial launch is expected next year following integration and testing, the company said.
