SK Telecom Becomes OpenAI's Sole Korean Telco Partner

SK Telecom (KRX:017670) will become the only Korean telecommunications operator to partner with OpenAI, following the US-based AI organization's launch of its South Korean office, the South Korean telecommunications firm said Tuesday.

Under the collaboration, the two firms will begin to offer a ChatGPT Plus service for two free months with a one-month subscription, available via SK Telecom's T Universe platform from Sept. 19, 2025, through February, the release said.

SK Telecom plans to expand cooperation with OpenAI across business-to-consumer and business-to-business, which could comprise several areas of interest for both firms.
