0855 GMT - Robust server DRAM orders for AI inferencing should boost the memory-chip demand upcycle, HSBC analysts say in a research note. HSBC expects chipmakers to support a stronger capex cycle and raises estimates for Korea's domestic semiconductor capex by 17% for 2025 and 8% for 2026. Price hikes in DRAM is expected to persist into 1H as AI processing shifts from cloud to edge devices, requiring more server and mobile DRAM. HSBC prefers SK Hynix, citing its leadership in high-bandwidth memory chips. EO Technics is also HSBC's preferred chip equipment name given its potential in laser-cutting technologies for HBM4.
