Hillgrove Resources (ASX:HGO) said extensional and infill drilling at the Nugent orebody, part of the Kanmantoo Copper Mine in South Australia, discovered high-grade copper-gold mineralization, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

Drilling is ongoing for both stope definition and resource expansion throughout the Kanmantoo system, per the filing. Drilling from underground remains on track to achieve the target of 60,000 meters by the end of the year.

It encountered an intercept of 21 meters at 0.85% grade of copper as well as 0.98 grams per tonne grade of gold from 136 meters downhole.

The firm's shares rose 2% in recent trading on Tuesday.
